Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria (MANN)

Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria is registered under part C of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (with amongst other objectives) the aim to advance and encourage professional knowledge of maritime arbitration in Nigeria and to ensure the development of Nigeria as a resource for arbitration in dispute resolution.

The objects of the Association include, among others, promoting and preserving standards in the practice of maritime arbitration, devising ways of encouraging the establishment of Nigeria as a center for International Commercial Maritime Arbitration, seeking to ensure that the enabling legal environment is arbitration friendly and complies with international acceptable standards as well as creating a forum for interaction between persons qualified to act as arbitrator and those interested in furthering arbitration as the preferred mode of dispute resolution in the industry. With the rise in the profile of Nigeria as a maritime nation, the Association also aims to promote sound arbitration practices and establish high ethical standards for Nigerians involved in maritime arbitration with a view to engendering international recognition for and confidence in Nigerian Maritime Arbitrators within the International Maritime Community.
